On Thursday, April 19th, Wenger Senf welcomed all lovers of first-class mustard from 10 am to 5 pm in the Wenger food factory in the Lastenstraße 40 in Klagenfurt for the grand opening. Close to 1000 fans joined the party.
The Wenger company was taken over in early 2017 by Benjamin Sintschnig, Managing Director of Autowelt Sintschnig, and after very complex repairs of the old machines and the construction of the production facility, the first golden tubes from the new manufactory were sold with great success. Now - nine months later - Wenger Senf opened its doors as well as the first mustard museum in the south of Austria with insights into the traditional as well as today's mustard production of the award-winning and double world champion mustard - with many samples of all mustard specialties. And as a premiere a new ambassador for the old Klagenfurt tradition was presented, the "Lindwurm mustard", made after an old original recipe.
For the anniversary celebrations 500 years Klagenfurt, now a special "Klagenfurt 500 menu" was presented,
consisting of Leberkässemmel, Wenger mustard and beer.
The menu was created by the butcher Plautz, the oldest butcher in Klagenfurt, the bakery Taumberger with a specially created Weckerl and the world champion mustard of Wenger. In addition, there is a specially prepared Schleppe beer and finally a Klagenfurt ice cream by Morle.
